It Had To Happen?
Obamessiah the Politician
by Steve

Did ya see the Red Sea parting? Water turned into wine? Loaves and Fishes? And to borrow from Islam, the Miraj/Night Journey? None are so amazing as the media finally, FINALLY, FINALLY getting around to playing referee in a game which to date has been all-Obama all the time.
The web is filled with Obama-bashing – who knew it would ever happen? The temptation is to say: It had to happen, it was overdue, it was inevitable. But, why now, instead of earlier? Is it the hiatus between major primaries? Did some magical critical mass develop, over the Reverend Wright issue? It had been in the public realm for over a year, yet it never met the tipping-point cascade of this past week.

MSNBC is a good bellwether, as Chris Matthews and his left-leaners are chewing a bit higher and higher on Obama’s appendages. Working from the fingertips, they soon will be at his trunk. There maybe they will stop, before doing any ‘serious’ damage. Along the way, they’ve finally examined parts of the Rezko scandal. And the original, early-career motivation for joining his controversial church – to get started in community politics – strikes some of Matthews’ merry band as evidence that Obama is Just Another Politician.
Now it appears that the Obamessiah is lugging around a few clay feet. Had to happen? Not really – ask Geraldine Ferrarro for the answer to that query. But it did happen. Maybe will continue, to Obama’s ultimate defenestration and defrocking and de-bugging. His halo is fading, tilting, blinking irregularly. Suddenly, the composure is softening, the eye blink-rate noticeably growing, and of course a taste of Clintonesque word-parsing [I wasn’t in the pew when those words were spoken…], that makes him JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN.
Who knew? Certainly not moi – this character was going to be fun to skewer in the fall, as he’s untested, untrained, unknown, unable in any serious way. The fear of his rhetorical style was misplaced – his lack of any accomplishment, and succeeding in reaching for the Senate in the face of a no-win GOP challenger, made him vulnerable. But that task would have been the GOP’s – now, the task in part has been taken up well before the GOP would have to do its duty, by the striped-shirt media. For a bit. Maybe long enough to wound him cruelly, as JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN.
Truly the worst wound of all, the unkindest cut – like the Wicked Witch in “Wizard of Oz” he is melting before our eyes. And all because he was found, belatedly but soon enough, by the media to be JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN.
Barack’s main claim has been that while less experienced, he has better judgment – that evidenced by his ‘correct’ position on the Gulf War, at least as seen correct by his lefty legions. Jerry Nachman’s oft-used retort to some menial liberal claim of proof applies to Barack’s biography: THAT’S ONE IN A ROW. Barack has once – count it, just one time – had ‘better’ judgment, in a whole lifetime. He can’t brandish more than one ‘correct’ judgment that places him above the crowd of liberals.
Has visited one NATO country in his life, hardly left the cuddly womb of liberal tribal politics of Chicago, adores his worthless father who abandoned him at such a young age – not much of a string of ‘judgment’ to qualify him, save for his ONE IN A ROW superior judgment on the war.
He milked that one qualification for all it was worth, and now it pales in comparison to his many-in-a-row bad judgments, such as Rezko and Wright and who knows what else, now that the referees in the media are finally earning a bit of entitlement to their striped shirts. Charmed by his great talk, they never examined his walk. Looks like he don’t walk so good after all. No one noticed his clumsy substance amidst all the glowing, flowery rhetoric.
After all these unquestioning months of Obama’s maximum leaning on his one-in-a-row ‘judgment’ claim, he’s revealed to be JUST ANOTHER POLITICIAN.
And that will be his undoing more than any one particular dramatic, even melodramatic issue. Compared to parting the Red Sea, this is far more entertaining. More miraculous. And, in the modern setting, almost as meaningful as that Exodus event. Who knew? ExileStreet
